NuVision's New Lucidium FX5LS and Pink-Framed LCDs

September 1, 2009

NuVision will display its all-new Lucidium FX5LS Series and limited-edition pink-framed 32-inch Lucidium FX5 Series LCD unit at CEDIA 2009.

The Edge-lit LED units are super slim displays that require less power to operate, feature greener technology, truer color, deeper blacks, and sport parallel inputs designed for smoother installation. NuVision will be displaying its 40-inch, 46-inch, and 55-inch units.

All FX5 sets come with NuVision's own FX5 and FFM technologies. FX5 eliminates the need for the 3:2 pull down algorithm found in 60Hz displays by recreating each frame five times, thus utilizing the 120Hz and high refresh rate of the panels.  Many other LCD manufactures deploy black-frame insertion or simply attempt to double the frames in an attempt to achieve 120Hz.  This works adequately when a motion sequence moves from left to right on the screen, but if it is reversed, the display reverts to its original 60Hz picture.

FFM is instrumental in creating clear, flicker-free fast sports and motion sequences by comparing two consecutive frames and generating additional interpolated frames. And for an additional benefit, NuVision makes it easy to shut both functions off completely to control any latency issues that may occur.

The new Lucidium FX5LS Series comes complete with a full, two-year manufacturer's warranty on all parts and labor.

NuVision will exhibit its all-new, limited edition pink-framed 32-inch Lucidium FX5 Series LCD unit at CEDIA 2009. The new addition to the existing Lucidium FX5 Series boasts a high-quality picture, an elegant pink frame and, most importantly, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research.

"We wanted to bring a television to market that was different than anything else out there," NuVision's vice chairman, David Hester said. "We loved the idea of a pink-framed unit because it's not only an alternative to traditional 32-inch displays, but because of the obvious ties to breast cancer research. It's not only important for us to manufacture high-end LCD's, but we'd like to be known as a company that gives back as well."
